Alaskan Sales, LLC was started in a garage in Wasilla, AK in June of 2015 with the idea of creating a wholesale distribution and shipping company whose goal was to serve the unique needs of rural Alaskan retailers and other organizations. Beginning with a one-page catalog and a spirit of never saying no to a request for a product, we grew our catalog, hired excellent employees and improved our equipment and facilities to handle the increased business, eventually forming what we have today:

• OG Alaskan Sales. This department received it’s name after we started other departments, and, since it was the first, this name seemed to fit. This department serves small home-based stores, general stores, restaurants, hardware stores, ATV/snowmachine parts repair shops, schools and other organizations in all regions of Alaska. What our customers appreciate is that we handle the complexity of sourcing, consolidating, and shipping the products they need so they only need to place one order and receive one invoice, and we even provide landed cost calculations upon request.

• Alaskan Shipping. We ship your orders through Bypass Mail, UPSP Priority Mail and air freight, and we do our own hazmat preparation. However, if you want to source your own products and have us do the shipping only, we can do that. We’ve shipped everything from hay bales to food for competing dog sled teams.
• Managed Grocery. Our OG Alaskan Sales has always sold dry, frozen and chilled grocery products, but we knew we needed to develop an excellent ordering system. We did that, it’s our own app for iOS and Android, allowing customers to scan product UPCs or search for products in our catalog, view and pay their invoices and interface with their LOC SMS and Clover point-of-sale systems, generating orders based on sales history, among numerous other things. In addition, we now have our e-commerce website as well.
• POS System. We went one step further by finding the best POS system for rural Alaska, LOC SMS. We can install it and provide support for EBT, eWic, and our own merchant services. In addition, upon customer agreement, we can provide 24/7 ongoing support, training and customizations through an in-house, LOC SMS expert.
• Concession Supplies. When a longtime concessions vendor to Alaska that we relied on decided to close their doors, in 2022, rather than find an expensive lower 48 vendor, we contacted them and asked, “how can we make this work?” We made a deal, hired their excellent and experienced staff, and kept the Alaska based supply of popcorn, Slush Puppie, soft serve ice cream, and many other products and equipment going.
• Coffee and Restaurant Supplies. In 2023, another one of our vendors, a longtime Alaskan distributor of coffee shop supplies, decided to close their operation. So, after much consideration, we decided that we had the space, vehicles and more importantly, the talented and motivated personnel needed to give it a go and keep the distribution of the product in hands of a small Alaskan business. The response by the customers was truly humbling and a year and a half later, we’re still working hard to keep up with demand, and we’ll soon be adding restaurant products and supplies.
• Lakewood Warehouse. An integral part of Alaskan Sales is our warehouse in Lakewood, WA. It was opened in April of 2021 to consolidate and ship our own freight, freight for other businesses and to load and ship containers directly to villages. Since then, we have also added concessions supplies and sales and shipping in Southeast, Alaska. This operation has contributed to our overall success.
• Togiak and Yakutat. Just last year, we put all our experience and resources to work to start a new small store in Togiak called Togiak Community Market, and operate another store in Yakutat that has served that community for many decades, called Mallotts.
